Another editorial in the Washington Post about gerrymandering (oddly my google alert for gerrymandering didn’t turn this up…makes me wonder how many articles I’m missing each day). This marks the second time in the last few months that they’ve taken it on. I hope we see more calls in the coming weeks from various sources for the two presidential candidates to speak out about the issue. Both have been affected by gerrymandering and benefitted and lost in different ways from line manipulation.
The blog’s been kind of dormant in these dog days of summer. All I can say for our progress is that we’ve got one investor solidly on board, just had a heartbreaking miss with a potential partner we met with last week, and are still hopeful we can put together the entire budget before the month is out. To be honest, all the waiting is killing me, but I’ve come across some interesting stories in Louisiana and Oklahoma these past few weeks that could drastically reframe the shape of the movie. I’m also diving into the Federalist Papers and other early constitutional theory to really understand the roots of the thinking that put in place the basic structure we operate with today. I also have another movie I’m developing which I might talk about here from time to time.
So, we’re keeping busy. Though, not quite as busy as we’d like….
